Foxborough Bubble Den – Our Little Baby Bubble

I don’t even know where to begin with this one!

We were very kindly gifted a nights stay in this brand new accommodation in Co. Antrim. The bubble den is situated just outside a small village in Portglenone wrapped away in its own little corner of the countryside.

The bubble dome itself is surrounded by a wild flowers, a flowing stream, thick forest and a field which displays sunsets that would take your breath away! Not to mention the stars that come out to play at night!

We arrived and were completely blown away the moment we stepped onto the pathway, by first and foremost the welcome from the hosts, the bubble itself and the incredible surroundings. We straight away felt at ease and so cut off from the outside world (which we both were in massive need of).

The bubble itself is just jaw dropping! Four poster bed (the comfiest bed you did ever feel), a large bath, seated area armed with coffee and cookies, WiFi  and my all time favourite – AIRCON – this baby has me sweating!

We got settled in and decided we were going to have a BBQ because it was such a lovely evening.

The fire lighters and utensils were all provided by the host, and a little cozy fire pit for the evening time, oh and did I mention the s’mores, best s’mores we’ve EVER tasted.

The hosts have literally thought of everything to make this such a special experience! The only negative was the charcoal chicken sewers that James had cooked…and by the way, charcoal isn’t one of my cravings just incase that popped into your head, but the fella did try!

But what I didn’t mention was this – before hand we were contacted and asked if we wanted a table booked at a local restaurant- I’m sorry but that blew me away and we hadn’t even got to the bubble yet! The level of hospitality and attention to details both these hosts offered was next to none. And I also need to state, neither of them have asked me to even write a blog, but I couldn’t not!

(I went off on a rant there, but a really positive one so I’m not even going to apologise for it)

So as I was saying.

We finished off dinner and toasted s’mores by the fire surrounded by the most beautiful of sunsets, looking out over the fields.

We then went in to the bubble and I had such a glorious bath, this was the bit I had been so looking forward to!

Then we got the fluffiest robes on and literally lay on the bed and watched the sun go down. Thats when the real show began. The darker it got the brighter the stars became and before we knew it the sky was packed full of them.

We had the most amazing sleep on the fluffiest bed. As you can see the Bubble is part transparent, so we were provided with eye masks so that the sun coming up didn’t waken us! This was our first experience of using eye masks and we both slept like babies.

We had the best good morning in the form of a breakfast basket, which is part of the service provided.

I think after the bath, it was my favorite part of the experience. We ate breakfast outside amongst the singing birds. The contents of the basket set us up for the day, especially the granola pot, De-lish.

So in a nutshell, The Foxborough Bubble Den for us wasn’t just a nice place to stay but it was truly the most idyllic experience which no photo could ever capture or explain. It was the best disruption to what’s about to be an incredibly busy season for us.
